The areas we work in
We work with the 8 districts of Nottinghamshire and each has its own distinct characters and issues:
- Ashfield –Mix urban and rural, including old coalfields
- Bassetlaw – Widespread rural villages and market towns. Suffered from loss of industry
- Broxtowe – West of the city
- Gedling – North-east of the city
- Mansfield – Urban - has the most deprived areas in the county
- Newark and Sherwood – Rural with many isolated villages
- Nottingham – Urban - high diversity and low inclusion
- Rushcliffe – South of the city - mainly rural, including old coalfields

Why do we do this work?
No matter where you live or work, there will be people living close by who suffer disadvantage – it may be through poverty, age, ill-health or disability. If, like us, you believe everyone deserves the chance to contribute and be valued as a member of the community, you can make a difference by helping us to support more local groups.
We find, train and fund the smallest most inexperienced grass roots groups as well as working with small charities. Our aim is to find solutions that genuinely help those in need. For some people this can mean learning to read, for others, it is defeating the pervasive influence of drugs and gun crime; and for a few, it is about achieving excellence in a chosen field – sport, music or art.
